Collection: Liszt Winery

The Liszt winery is located in Leithaprodersdorf, a small village at the foot of the Leitha Mountains, nestled in a landscape shaped by viticulture for centuries. The winery is run by Bernhard and Theresa Liszt, a young couple who work with great dedication, craftsmanship, and a clear commitment to nature.
At the heart of our approach is the organic cultivation of the vineyards. The vines grow on calcareous and slate soils, which imparts a delicate minerality and structure to the wines. We primarily cultivate regional varieties such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Grüner Veltliner, and Pinot Blanc. The wines undergo spontaneous fermentation, are neither fined nor filtered – they are allowed to develop freely and express the full potential of the vintage. Aging typically takes place in used oak barrels, emphasizing elegance and terroir.
But the Liszt winery is far more than just a winery. Bernhard and Theresa pursue a holistic concept that combines agriculture, craftsmanship, and hospitality. Their fields grow heritage grains, which they mill fresh flour for their bread in their own mill. They raise heritage breeds of pigs free-range and process the meat themselves into fine specialties. At the heart of it all is the idea of working honestly and independently with the simplest possible means – without compromising on quality or responsibility.
This philosophy is also evident in the wine tavern, which is more than just a traditional wine tavern. Here, natural wines meet homemade dishes, all produced on the farm. In a relaxed atmosphere, guests can experience what grows, ferments, and matures on the property – accompanied by personal interaction with the hosts themselves.
Bernhard and Theresa Liszt represent a new generation in Burgenland: connected to nature, creative, and radically honest. Their winery is a place of openness where good wine and sustainable living naturally go hand in hand.
