Collection: Gross & Gross

Flein is a special project by two family businesses from southern Styria, dedicated entirely to alcohol-free enjoyment. Behind it are the Gross and Gross wineries – one from Ratsch an der Weinstraße, run by Johannes Gross, and the other from Ehrenhausen, represented by Michael Gross. Although both families share the same surname, they are independent but closely connected – through their friendship, their winemaking tradition, and their shared vision.
The idea behind Flein was to develop a grape juice that is more than just a sweet drink. Instead of focusing on mass production, the producers wanted to create something that lives up to the standards of a great wine – just without the alcohol. The name "Flein" refers to the regional dialect for small vineyards where the grapes for this juice are grown.
The project consciously focuses on quality and handcrafted methods. The grapes come exclusively from organically cultivated vineyards in Southern Styria – a region known for its steep slopes, fertile soils, and climatic diversity. Each grape is harvested by hand, carefully selected, and processed with particular care. The aim is to preserve the natural freshness, varietal character, and minerality of the grapes – entirely without additives or preservatives.
Flein is single-varietal, vegan, and all-natural. The juices exhibit an astonishing depth and elegance, reminiscent of fine wines. There's also a sparkling version – Flein Fizz – which adds a bubbly element to the concept.
What distinguishes this project is the high standard with which it operates. Johannes and Michael Gross contribute not only their experience in viticulture, but also a modern mindset that allows room for innovation. Flein is not a by-product, but an independent concept that focuses on conscious enjoyment and origin.
